Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has announced the establishment of four new government arts and science colleges for the 2025–2026 academic year, aimed at improving access to higher education for students in rural areas.
The government has also announced a new college for Thuraiyur city in Tiruchirappalli district. While Thuraiyur is confirmed, the exact location within the city is yet to be decided.
Students from K.V. Kuppam (Vellore district), Ulundurpet (Kallakurichi district), Chengam (Tiruvannamalai district), and Thuraiyur (Tiruchirappalli district) are expected to benefit from this initiative.
