Thuraiyur Bus Stand Temporarily Shifted for Renovation
Thuraiyur Municipality has announced the temporary relocation of the Anna Bus Stand to facilitate renovation works under the Kalaignar Urban Development Scheme (2025–26).
The redevelopment project, estimated at ₹11.25 crore, received administrative approval on 23 April 2025 and technical approval on 6 May 2025, with construction approval on 20 June 2025.
As the renovation progresses, bus operations will be temporarily shifted from 13 March 2026 to an alternative site located at Survey Numbers 314/1 and 314/2 in Bharathi Nagar near Sorathur Road, Thuraiyur. Authorities have advised passengers and the public to use the temporary bus stand until the renovation of the existing facility is completed.
UPDATE: Thuraiyur Municipality has announced that buses will continue to use Anna Bus Stand normally until 10th, 12th Board exams finish, and the temporary bus stand start date will be announced later.
